GALA SCREENING: The Ants (Les Fourmis)

Followed by a discussion with director Yassine Fennane and VIP Reception

The powerful 2025 Moroccan fiction thriller The Ants (Les Fourmis), directed by Yassine Fennane, is a poignant and nuanced examination of intra-African migration and the difficult journey toward dignity.

The film masterfully weaves together three distinct yet interconnected lives near the Morocco–Spain border: Félicité, a young Sub-Saharan migrant whose quest to secure a Christian burial for her deceased friend leads her to seek work in Tangier; Hamid, an unscrupulous labor recruiter whose exploitation of migrants leads to his own downfall; and Kenza, a wealthy mother whose decision to hire Félicité sparks a marital crisis.

This dramatic convergence of fates exposes painful truths about social class, exploitation, and the moral cost of survival in the modern African context.

Join us for this powerful Gala Screening, followed by a discussion with director Yassine Fennane and a VIP Reception.
