  • Mayday Space 176 Saint Nicholas Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11237 United States (map)

Join Balady Film Club on Friday, April 10th at Mayday Space for a screening of Mai Masri’s “Frontiers of Dreams and Fears”, alongside a panel discussion + market fundraiser for Lebanon

from the Shatila camp in Beirut to the Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem, “Frontiers of Dreams and Fears” follows two teenage girls – Mona and Manar – who, separated by exile, form a friendship via the internet and are eventually able to meet. shot after the liberation of Southern Lebanon from zionist occupation and at the outset of the Second Intifada, the film explores the connections between memory, dreams, and Palestinian identity.

the panel discussion after the film will ground us in the history of zionist occupation in Palestine and Lebanon, connecting the film to the current political moment and recent escalations in our region. the scenes of joy in the film are a reminder of what we’re struggling for, as we envision a future of liberation for our people and lands.
