The forced displacement and murder of people in Lebanon has been ongoing for decades. Communities in the south have faced the most pain bordered by the Israeli state. Over one million people have been displaced from their homes.
On April 26th, join us for a screening of short films by Lebanese filmmaker Darine Hotaitwhose work centers themes of being from Lebanon and Palestine, living in the US, and experiencing life with a sense of longing.
Doors will open at 6 and the films will start promptly at 7pm. Come early to mingle, get a drink at the bar, and get comfortable.
All funds raised will go to Humans of Dahieh, a trusted organization heping the displaced people of Dahieh with medical needs and housing.

The screening will take place at Huda in Williamsburg. There will be no food inside the screening room but you can order drinks at the bar and bring them inside. You are welcome to stay for dinner just make sure you book a table through Resy.

Darine Hotait is a Lebanese-American writer and film director. Named on Disney’s List of Directors on the Rise, Darine's award winning films have shown on HBO, BBC, The New Yorker, and at international film festivals. Darine is also a published playwright and short story writer. Her work appeared and/or forthcoming in Mizna, Red Hen Press, The Seventh Wave, Rusted Radishes, and Angle Mort. She is the recipient of the New York Council on the Arts Artist Prize, New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, the Jerome Foundation Award, and the North Manhattan Arts Alliance Prize.
