What events can be included in this calendar?

• Screenings of films by, about and/or from the Arab world and diaspora*.

• Screenings taking place in the NYC area (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Staten Island).

• Public, in-person events only.

*Arab can be a complicated and fraught identity marker so films from Arab countries/by Arab filmmakers that are by and/or about ethnic, cultural and/or religious minorities who are not/do not consider themselves to be Arab are still welcome to be submitted.

Will my event be automatically included?

• No. All submissions are subject to review. We have the right to not include any submissions that we feel are not appropriate for this calendar.

• Updates are done manually and may take time to post.

Can I submit a non-Arab event that may be of interest to this audience and/or is from the greater SWANA region?

• We discourage submitting these due to our bandwidth but, while these types of events will likely not be included in the calendar, they may be included in the Cinema Arabiyya newsletter or on the Instagram if we believe they might be of interest to this audience.
